Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Up to one month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence

  • Certification to operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders
  • Familiarity with meal counting software and basic office equipment

Job Duties

  • Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and make sure all food is held at required temperatures
  • Assist in the preparation of foods in accordance with menu plans and recipes
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders with proper certification
  • Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized
  • Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas including equipment and dishes
  • Keep inventory stock organized and practice First In/First Out procedures
  • Clean, monitor chemical usage, and maintain dishwashing equipment
  • Requisition appropriate amounts of food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager
  • Prepare baked goods like bread, cakes, and cookies as required
  • Batch cook to maintain product quality and food presentation
  • Set up serving and bar lines ensuring food temperature and restock as needed
  • Serve items with proper serving sizes and hospitality
  • Keep serving lines stocked with food items, napkins, silverware, and dishes
  • Handle customer monies and operate point-of-sale systems
  • Complete required paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation
  • Submit hours worked and notify management of shift availability
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions
  • Follow safety and compliance procedures including HACCP and meal pattern regulations
  • Maintain accurate daily production records
  • Participate in safety incentive programs and promote company core values
