Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Up to one-month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed oral or written instructions
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 25 pounds frequently and exert over 60 pounds occasionally
- Ability to maintain concentrated attention, depth perception, and color vision
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely with proper certification
- Willingness to comply with food safety, health, and safety protocols
- Must attend required meetings and complete yearly training hours according to regulations
- Ability to work around wet, humid, hot, cold, and noisy conditions frequently

- Experience using kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, ovens, slicers, and mixers
- Familiarity with meal counting software and basic office equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties
- Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at required temperature
- Assist in the preparation of foods according to menu plan and Opaa! recipes
- Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification
- Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized
- Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas including equipment and dishes
- Keep inventory stock organized and practice FIFO procedures
- Clean, monitor chemical usage, and maintain equipment in the dishwashing area
- Requisition appropriate amounts of food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager
- Prepare baked goods as required by the menu plan and present them appealingly
- Batch cook to maintain quality and excellent food presentation
- Set up serving/bar lines and ensure food is held at proper temperatures
- Serve items with proper portion sizes and utensils with quality presentation and hospitality
- Keep serving lines and condiments stocked with food items, napkins, silverware, and dishes
- Prepare foods in compliance with menu plan and Opaa! recipes
- Follow standardized recipes for consistent product quality
- Recognize reimbursable meals and follow HHFKA and CACFP meal patterns
- Keep accurate daily production records
- Follow HACCP processes and maintain food safety logs
- Adhere to safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- Participate in safety programs and attend required meetings and training
- Handle customer monies and operate cash register or computer as required
- Complete necessary paperwork including tray counts and meal reconciliation
- Submit work hours accurately and notify supervisors about shift coverage
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
