Job Requirements

  • Must be able to read recipes and tickets in English and successfully complete testing for station certification and food safety in English
  • Reliable transportation to/from work
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to stand continuously, bend, and lift/carry items up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to read recipes, prep sheets, charts in English
  • Understand measuring ingredients by weight and volume
  • Able to use ounce and pound scales for measuring
  • Able to operate a slicer for meats, cheeses, and vegetables (must be 18 to operate slicer)
  • Able to hear and respond to calls made in English
  • Must be able to operate fryers, char-grill, flat top grill, slicer, and other BOH equipment
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures
  • Adhere to dress code including black non-skid shoes, long black pants with belt, Walk On's approved BOH shirt, hair restraint and beard net if facial hair

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to read recipes and tickets in English
  • Food safety knowledge and certification preferred
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions

Job Duties

  • Arrives at work on time, well-groomed in a clean uniform for every shift
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude at all times, willing to help out where needed
  • Follow all Walk-On's safety, sanitation, and employee guidelines
  • Follow day prep sheet and complete all duties assigned
  • Set up Sani-buckets, maintain a clean work area during the shift
  • Follow proper food rotation, understand how to date and label all items
  • Strictly adhere to Walk-On's recipes and procedure when preparing food
  • Practice clean as you go techniques to avoid cross contamination
  • Assist and complete the daily line checklist for shift readiness
  • Complete job requirements without constant supervision
  • Use scale for proper portioning
  • Calibrate bio-thermometers and scales for accurate results
  • Follow all HACCP guidelines for heating and cooling of food products
  • Assist in checking in, unloading, dating, rotating, and storage of delivered products
  • Assist other employees to complete any tasks during shift
  • Dump trash and cardboard from kitchen into proper receptacles
