Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- up to one-month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- basic math skills sufficient for job duties
- physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and exert up to 60 pounds occasionally
- ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, climb, and perform other physical activities required by kitchen work
- capability to follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- flexibility to work in environments with varying temperature and noise levels
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- ability to write simple correspondence
- effective verbal communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to execute detailed but straightforward instructions
- experience or ability to use kitchen machinery such as slicers, mixers, grinders, dishwashers
- knowledge of food safety standards and meal pattern regulations desirable
Job Duties
- prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings and assist with serving lines
- participate in occasional catering functions
- perform all positions within the kitchen including food preparation, operating kitchen equipment, and cleaning
- maintain food safety and HACCP compliance including temperature logging and record keeping
- set up and restock serving lines ensuring all food is held at proper temperatures
- handle customer monies and operate POS systems as required
- complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation tasks daily
