Job Description

DuPagePads is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to supporting individuals and families recovering from homelessness by providing interim housing solutions and essential services. Established with a mission to end homelessness in DuPage County, Illinois, DuPagePads offers a continuum of care, including shelter services, food assistance, and case management. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of related inventory, shelter, or pantry experience
  • be at least 21 years old
  • high school diploma or equivalent, some college coursework preferred
  • valid Illinois driver’s license
  • good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Operate within the DuPagePads core values and trauma informed policies and practices
  • lead food-related hospitality practices that provide nutrition and hope to people experiencing homelessness
  • ensure procedure manual is accurate, up to date, and complies with health department and agency requirements
  • maintain kitchen equipment, set service schedules, and coordinate maintenance requests with the facilities supervisor
  • collaborate with the Director of Engagement to source pro bono food donations from local organizations
  • oversee and participate in maintaining clean and sanitary food service and pantry areas following state and local sanitation codes
  • manage donation receiving and food storage practices according to food safety regulations including inventory rotation
  • keep inventory current for food orders and supplies, anticipate needs, place and expedite orders, verify receipts, and maintain records with the office administrator
  • update and align food-handling volunteer handbook with health department regulations
  • support facility compliance with health and fire codes and assist with inspections and remediation
  • directly supervise meal services on days the Food and Resource Service Coordinator is absent
  • maintain reliable attendance and foster collaborative working relationships
  • obtain ServSafe certification within first 60 days
  • perform additional related tasks including assisting resource room operations as needed
