Job Requirements

- 3-4 years of related management experience
- MN Food Safety certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to move about regularly
- Ability to operate and use kitchen tools and equipment
- Ability to communicate with guests, employees, management
- Occasional local travel to other properties
- Specific vision abilities including close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
- Ability to carry at least 50 lbs for periods of time
Job Qualifications
- 3-4 years of related management experience
- Strong culinary skills and working knowledge of kitchen systems
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, inventory processes, and cost controls
- Strong knowledge of food cost, purchasing, and kitchen equipment operations
- Exceptional knowledge in food preparation and food and wine pairing
- MN Food Safety certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to food safety and sanitation
- Ability to understand P&L statements and financial data
- Ability to lead and mentor a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Preferred bilingual skills
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager in a high-volume restaurant
Job Duties
- Supervise daily production and prep to ensure all dishes follow established recipes and standards
- Maintain accurate portioning, proper cooking techniques, and consistent plate presentation
- Conduct taste and temperature checks and uphold all food safety protocols
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of all products
- Expedite service and oversee the flow of orders to ensure a positive guest experience
- Responsible for purchasing and receiving food, supplies, and equipment within budget guidelines while managing inventory and security
- Develop recipe cards for menu items to maintain consistency and profitability
- Review menus and analyze recipes to determine food, labor, and overhead costs
- Complete administrative duties including payroll, food orders, costing, and recipe specifications
- Lead and mentor BOH staff with coaching, training, and ongoing feedback
- Support onboarding and development of cooks and key hourly staff
- Conduct performance evaluations and address issues professionally
- Foster a positive, collaborative BOH culture
- Manage vendor purchasing programs and assist in budget preparation and monitoring
- Review and adjust staffing levels according to budget and guest needs
- Assign prep, line, and closing duties to ensure smooth service
- Assist with interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new employees
- Maintain controlled inventory levels, organized storage, and timely invoice processing
- Uphold food safety guidelines and health department compliance
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and support equipment maintenance
- Coordinate with GM and leadership to maintain operational standards
- Communicate effectively with FOH and BOH teams to ensure guest satisfaction
- Support menu changes and operational initiatives
