Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years previous experience as a chef in a hotel restaurant
- Food Handler Certification required
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift
- Capacity for prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good decision-making abilities based on analysis and experience
- Commitment to workplace safety and participation in safety committees
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in culinary arts or related field preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years experience as a chef in a hotel restaurant
- Food Handler Certification required
- Strong leadership skills with ability to develop and manage a kitchen team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
- Passion for culinary trends and continuous learning
- Proven ability to manage inventory and stock control
- Capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Job Duties
- Running an efficient, productive, and professional kitchen on a day-to-day basis
- Developing a kitchen brigade through hands-on education and positive encouragement
- Ensuring quality and consistency of all dishes prepared and served
- Learning service steps, products, menu, and systems thoroughly
- Collaborating with restaurant and hotel teams to enhance productivity and guest experience
- Complying with corporate SOPs and labor laws
- Managing food labeling, storage, and temperature control protocols
- Describing, creating, and training staff on menu preparation and flavor profiles
- Completing all tasks within reasonable timeframes
- Demonstrating interest in industry trends
- Communicating clearly and professionally
- Supporting and guiding new team members
