Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years previous experience as a chef in a hotel restaurant
  • Food Handler Certification required
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift
  • Capacity for prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Good decision-making abilities based on analysis and experience
  • Commitment to workplace safety and participation in safety committees

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in culinary arts or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience as a chef in a hotel restaurant
  • Food Handler Certification required
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to develop and manage a kitchen team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
  • Passion for culinary trends and continuous learning
  • Proven ability to manage inventory and stock control
  • Capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Job Duties

  • Running an efficient, productive, and professional kitchen on a day-to-day basis
  • Developing a kitchen brigade through hands-on education and positive encouragement
  • Ensuring quality and consistency of all dishes prepared and served
  • Learning service steps, products, menu, and systems thoroughly
  • Collaborating with restaurant and hotel teams to enhance productivity and guest experience
  • Complying with corporate SOPs and labor laws
  • Managing food labeling, storage, and temperature control protocols
  • Describing, creating, and training staff on menu preparation and flavor profiles
  • Completing all tasks within reasonable timeframes
  • Demonstrating interest in industry trends
  • Communicating clearly and professionally
  • Supporting and guiding new team members
