Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years kitchen experience required
  • 1-3 years management experience required
  • ability to listen effectively and give and take direction
  • ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a timely manner
  • comfortable with computer functions expected from a manager

Job Duties

  • Run great shifts and manage all kitchen and shift responsibilities
  • coordinate daily team deployment and routines
  • manage kitchen prep schedule and ensure timely prep and pull
  • taste food for quality and flavor at least twice per shift
  • ensure flawless food recipe execution
  • maintain timing, quality, and freshness of drinks
  • uphold safety and security standards for food and team
  • handle hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new kitchen staff
  • conduct training for initial, cross-training, and new position requirements
  • develop team members through practices and follow-up
  • perform evaluations and maintain effective communication with one-on-ones
  • organize team’s plan and daily development
  • ensure daily communication and shift hand-off success
  • lead restaurant team meetings and create an energetic, positive atmosphere
  • train and mentor kitchen supervisors
  • consistently teach, train, and coach the team
  • manage food accountability and ordering
  • control waste, yields, par levels, and variances
  • oversee proper receiving, organization, and rotation of food
  • maintain inventory accountability and food cost daily and at end of period
  • care for and respect kitchen equipment and tools
  • manage guest service and respond to feedback
  • implement action plans for third party inspection results
