Job Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Serve Safe certificate required
- Ability to work within a budget and purchase supplies efficiently
- Knowledge of and experience in food service including ordering, inventory, budgeting, food preparation, family style serving, buffet serving, cleaning, and institutional kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of and experience in preparation of special dietary foods
- Knowledge in safely and properly using kitchen equipment
- Positive attitude and ability to build a cohesive team
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required or willingness to obtain
- Meet the YMCA of Northern Utah driver requirements
- Previous experience working with children and staff in a camp setting preferred
- Previous experience working with diverse populations
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
- Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Job Duties
- Prepare and/or cook all meals for staff and campers
- Effectively supervise the camp kitchen team
- Create and implement a healthy menu that caters to the needs of campers and staff
- Purchase and inventory food while managing and maintaining the budget
- Ensure food orders are accurate and made in a timely manner
- Maintain the health department's requirements to ensure a safe and clean area
- Role model the YMCA of Northern Utah's professional standards
- Participate and contribute in support staff meetings
- Follow all policies, procedures, and standards as established by law or the Y
- Nurture children through purposeful programming by planning developmentally appropriate activities
- Create a positive rapport with all youth and staff
- Attend and participate in family nights, staff meetings, and staff training
- Work alongside entire camp staff throughout the program week and on the last day of program to clean the facility
- Perform other duties as assigned
