Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, climbing, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as typing and chopping
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage staff and handle employee relations
  • Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions
  • Ability to adapt to various assignments and conditions

  • Experience in kitchen or food service management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to monitor and manage financial aspects of food service operations

Job Duties

  • Approve and ensure accurate payroll for employees on a monthly basis
  • Approve employee time off and manage proper staffing at site
  • Work with Manager and Central office to ensure coverage of absences and turnover
  • Pursue opportunities to create positive relationships with community, Nutrition Services staff, school staff, students and parents
  • Maintain all kitchen financial records, including deposits and forms, and reports for Colorado Department of Education
  • Monitor compliance of all school food service regulatory agencies
  • Maintain food costs to a Profit and Loss ratio to meet business requirements
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, including safety and HACCP training
  • Oversee sanitation and cleaning of kitchen facilities and equipment
  • Handle employee issues with discretion and confidentiality
  • Maintain food inventory and place all orders by deadlines
  • Manage employee performance and conduct critical conversations
  • Responsible for production management and daily production reports
  • Monitor sales lines and customer control
  • Ensure all staff recognize reimbursable meals
  • Complete USDA Mandatory Professional Standards training hours annually
  • Maintain meals per labor hour to meet business requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
