Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in kitchen management
  • ability to plan menus and order ingredients
  • knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • good communication skills
  • prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of proven experience as a kitchen manager preferred
  • hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
  • knowledge of a wide range of recipes
  • familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • previous managerial experience a plus

Job Duties

  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
  • supervise food prep and cooking
  • check food plating and temperature
  • establish portion sizes
  • schedule kitchen staff shifts
  • price menu items in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager
  • order food supplies and kitchen equipment as needed
  • train kitchen staff in prep work and food plating techniques
  • store food products in compliance with safety practices
  • keep weekly and monthly cost reports
  • maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
  • assist in recruiting, hiring, and training kitchen staff
  • daily supervision of kitchen staff including communicating company policies, standards, and procedures
  • assist in kitchen staff annual reviews with management
  • partner with management to address staff disciplinary actions
  • serve as a resource for kitchen staff by answering questions, conducting training, and mentoring
  • monitor kitchen staff assignments, schedules, and job function completion ensuring coverage
