Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in kitchen management or similar leadership role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Skilled in food quality control and inventory management
- Ability to train and mentor staff effectively
- Familiarity with health, safety, and food quality standards
- Proficient with computer systems relevant to restaurant operations
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Experience in hiring and employee development
- Commitment to promoting a positive work environment and culture
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and safe operation
Job Duties
- Manage all kitchen and shift responsibilities, including opening and closing
- Deploy daily team schedules and routines effectively
- Coordinate kitchen prep schedules and manage inventory pull
- Conduct food tastings at least twice per shift to ensure quality and flavor
- Ensure flawless execution of food recipes
- Monitor timing, quality, and freshness of drinks
- Maintain food and team safety and security standards
- Lead hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training of kitchen staff
- Develop team members through continuous training, coaching, and evaluations
- Facilitate daily communication and successful shift hand-offs
- Organize and lead restaurant team meetings
- Create positive energy and a great atmosphere in the kitchen
- Mentor and train kitchen supervisors (S2)
- Take accountability for food ordering, waste, yields, and par levels
- Oversee proper receiving, organization, and rotation of inventory
- Manage inventory accountability including food cost tracking daily and at end of period
- Ensure proper care and respect for equipment and tools
- Respond to guest feedback and maintain high guest service standards
- Implement action plans based on third-party inspection results
