Job Requirements
- High school or GED equivalent
- minimum 2-3 years leadership experience in full-service restaurant kitchen
- ServeSafe Certification required
- thorough knowledge of food safety systems and procedures
- excellent food preparation and knife skills
- strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and POS systems
- ability to analyze food, purchasing, and labor costs
- ability to work on feet for long hours and lift 50 pounds
- availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts
- ability to travel within region
- English language proficiency
- basic Spanish preferred but not required
- full-time, in-person work
- good communication skills
- ability to accept direction and feedback and improve performance

- formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred but not required
- minimum 2-3 years in a leadership role within a full-service restaurant kitchen
- ServeSafe Certified
- thorough knowledge of food safety systems and procedures
- excellent food preparation and knife skills
- strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and POS systems
- ability to conduct food, purchasing, and labor costing and analysis
- basic Spanish preferred but not required
- ability to work on feet for up to 10 hours and lift at least 50 pounds
- availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts

Job Duties
- Manage all activities in the kitchen
- be a teacher and mentor to all back-of-house employees
- collaborate with the Culinary Operations Manager to develop new recipes, dishes, and procedures
- train kitchen personnel in best practices for cleanliness and sanitation
- control food costs to budgeted levels
- conduct daily shift line checks ensuring prepped food meets company standards
- supervise and inspect all prep procedures to ensure company recipes are adhered to
- maintain a clean and safe environment instructing staff in proper food preparation, storage, and kitchen equipment use
- ensure that food service products, presentation, and plating are of highest quality and prepared timely
- be responsible for food quality, service, and presentation adhering to recipes and standard operating procedures
- place food orders and conduct end-of-period food inventory
- monitor refrigeration and storage operations through product rotation to prevent spoilage
- recognize and cultivate future culinary leaders from back-of-house ranks
- open the restaurant 2-3 days per week as manager on duty
- effectively communicate with other managers and line staff in a fast-paced environment
- take direction and feedback to improve future performance
