Job Requirements

  • 2 years of kitchen manager, head chef, or sous experience
  • Experience leading a team of more than five people
  • Experience making schedules and using labor templates
  • Over 4 years of kitchen experience
  • History of growth in position
  • Keen palate skills and knowledge
  • Independently motivated
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity
  • Growth mindset orientated
  • Ability to work 9 or more hours on feet multiple days a week
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Keen eye for detail and quality
  • Use of labor and food management systems
  • Capable of running operations without supervision
  • Cool and calm demeanor under pressure
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve problems in the moment
  • Solves problems and follows through until solved
  • Demonstrated ability to train and grow leaders

Job Duties

  • Hire and onboard the prep team
  • Oversee and train prep captains
  • Develop and coach team members to meet high culinary standards
  • Use prep path tool to track team progress
  • Manage quality control through tasting and inspection
  • Maintain daily deep cleaning and food safety standards
  • Manage purchasing and labor budgets
  • Coordinate scheduling within labor templates
  • Foster a joyful and mission-driven team culture
