Job Requirements

  • Ability to work at least 8 hours per day
  • ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • continuously reach, push, pull, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe
  • frequently wash hands and handle cleaning products
  • frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • frequently manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to cut, measure, pour, serve, carry and wipe

Job Qualifications

  • High school or GED or technical school education
  • 2+ years working in a high-volume kitchen
  • understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • team player with a can do attitude
  • ability to handle difficult situations and adapt quickly to resolve problems
  • familiar with updated industry best practices
  • working knowledge of various computer software programs including MS Office, Google Docs, and POS

Job Duties

  • Effectively control food production to maximize quality and yield
  • monitor staff adherence to operating methods and ensure security of stock and property
  • assist with training and discipline in conjunction with management team
  • communicate with Chef and General Manager regarding BOH matters
  • support promotional activities and events related to the kitchen
  • check quality and quantity of food leaving the kitchen
  • ensure correct food preparation methods and presentation
  • maintain efficient, smooth, and quick kitchen service
  • order and purchase food requirements economically
  • control food storage and implement stock rotation
  • minimize food spoilage
  • ensure proper mis-en-place quality and storage
  • promote good working relations among staff
  • maintain kitchen organization, efficiency, and safety
  • train and motivate kitchen staff to foster a happy and disciplined team
  • perform duties as specified by Executive Chef or General Manager
  • support implementation of SOPs
  • complete objectives within allocated time
  • maintain high personal hygiene and appearance standards
  • be friendly and courteous to staff, management, and guests
  • attend training and meetings as requested
  • work entire shift unless otherwise instructed
  • manage kitchen labor according to company standards
