Job Duties

  • Daily supervision of kitchen team members, including training, development, and performance management
  • act as a strong, self-reliant leader making sound production and personnel decisions
  • manage shift-level kitchen operations ensuring compliance with company standards
  • hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of kitchen staff
  • conduct performance reviews and administer corrective actions including termination
  • ensure every item meets Papa John's quality standards and order specifications
  • communicate and reinforce food quality and preparation standards
  • maintain current food safety certifications for all team members
  • oversee kitchen cleanliness, organization, and security
  • manage non-exempt kitchen and in-store team activities during shifts
  • assume General Manager duties in their absence
  • recruit quality-focused team members and ensure proper staffing levels
  • maintain uniform and appearance compliance
  • document and address performance deficiencies
  • provide coaching and development to kitchen staff
  • support sales targets by ensuring timely and accurate menu item preparation
  • implement strategies to improve back-of-house profitability
  • execute inventory controls and food cost management
