Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- food manager certificates required
- valid Texas Class "C" Driver’s License required
- must have and maintain acceptable driving record as established by the City of Midlothian driving standards
- ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
- ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- ability to climb stairs and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- driving is a requirement of this position
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- food manager certificate required
- CPR certification preferred
- valid Texas Class "C" Driver’s License required
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
- one year of experience as kitchen manager preferred
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- ability to work and drive in a safe manner
- ability to interact with citizens in a professional manner
- skill in basic math operations, writing, and cooking
Job Duties
- Directs and assists in food planning and preparation, cooking, serving, and clean-up of meals served at the Senior Center
- plans meals with directors’ approval
- creates grocery list for meals at the Senior Center
- maintains kitchen equipment
- assists with supervision of kitchen volunteers
- assists with the food donation drop offs and pick-ups from donor sources
- maintains temperature logs and food rotation in the refrigeration/freezer units and pantries
- assists the janitorial staff to ensure that the kitchen cleaning is completed safely, accurately and timely
- interacts with members and guests
