Job Requirements
- At least five years’ experience in institutional food service preferably in a senior living community
- Two years supervisor experience to include food and labor cost/control, scheduling, menu planning, food and supply ordering and employee relations
- Must be knowledgeable of and skilled in food preparation, food storage and operation of kitchen equipment
- Must have a current driver’s license with ability to safely pick-up supplies and food as necessary
- Ability to work independently, maintaining a positive attitude in an environment that can be stressful and demanding
- Food Manager Certification

Job Duties
- Establishes and maintains high standards of menu planning, food purchasing, storage, preparation, service, sanitation, and maintains an adequate stock of all necessary items
- Follows budgetary guidelines and looks for ways to improve food costs without compromising on quality and customer service
- Recruits, interviews, hires, evaluate, coaches, and terminate employees following facilities procedures
- Orients, trains, and supervises all culinary services employees so that they may do their jobs effectively
- Establishes and maintains a safe, clean, and healthy environment following all state, federal, local and facility policies and procedures and laws for culinary services departments
- Is familiar with all chemicals and handles them in a safe manner according to policies and procedures and MSDS
- Maintains confidentiality of patients' personal information in and out of the facility and protects and supports patients’ rights
- Maintains a professional appearance by dressing in required dress protocol and assures all employees is professionally attired in appropriate uniforms
- Maintains a professional demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment for the patients, families, vendors, and guests
