Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school or G.E.D. graduate preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of kitchen supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
  • Completion of three basic courses within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program
  • Completion of basic food handling training and obtaining any local or state mandated certification, health card, or food handlers permit
  • Completion of Safe Alcohol Service training if applicable
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Requires regular and consistent attendance
  • Energetic and friendly attitude during shifts
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service
  • Possesses hearing, visual, and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations
  • Ability to distinguish product quality including taste, texture, temperature, presentation, and preparation
  • Finger and hand dexterity to operate kitchen machinery and knives
  • Accurate cash handling and basic math skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication in English
  • Ability to work both independently and in team settings
  • Ability to take and follow direction
  • Responds with a sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of safe kitchen equipment handling
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to recruit, train, and lead staff
  • Conflict resolution abilities
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, and reaching around theatre
  • Comfortable working in moderate to high noise levels
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school or G.E.D. graduate preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of kitchen supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
  • Completion of Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program
  • Basic food handling training and any local or state mandated certification, health card, or food handlers permit
  • Safe Alcohol Service training program completion for those working with alcohol
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to recruit, train, and lead others
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to follow direction and respond with urgency
  • Knowledgeable in safely handling kitchen equipment and maintaining supplies

Job Duties

  • Oversees kitchen in multi-faceted restaurant and entertainment scene
  • Monitors food safety for handling and preparation according to guidelines
  • Conducts regular line checks, monitors stock levels, and manages inventory to ensure recipe adherence
  • Schedules and appoints tasks and responsibilities to kitchen staff
  • Ensures cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen, including daily cleaning of equipment and proper supply storage
  • Ensures efficient kitchen timing especially during peak hours to assure smooth seat side service
  • Assists in the preparation of administrative and special reports
  • Works hand-in-hand with management team to drive financial results
  • Enforces kitchen staff dress code and policy adherence
  • Communicates well with team to ensure guests receive an extraordinary memorable dining experience
  • Reports employee relations issues to General Manager and follows Employee Relations Reporting Protocol
  • Consistently identifies and sanitizes employee and guest high-contact areas
  • Properly utilizes personal protective equipment while completing position-specific tasks
  • Addresses safety or security issues promptly
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
