Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment
  • 5 years of proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to manage kitchen inventory and control food costs
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow direction from management
  • Ability to commit to a set schedule

Job Qualifications

  • 5 years of proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills including ability to train, teach, and motivate staff while maintaining a professional and caring environment
  • Ability to advocate clearly and efficiently for restaurant needs to Operations
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to manage kitchen inventory and control food costs
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in high-volume situations
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with all levels of staff
  • Ability to be a team player and assist as needed for successful service
  • Ability to communicate and follow through with direction from the Food and Beverage Director
  • Ability to commit to a set schedule

Job Duties

  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring the team works efficiently and cohesively and create a fun, fast paced atmosphere
  • Encourage the team to stay calm and perform successfully under pressure while recognizing teaching moments and training opportunities
  • Assist with menu planning and ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards
  • Manage food and supply inventory using XtraChef, order ingredients, and monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations including proper food storage, handling, and cleaning procedures
  • Monitor food and labor costs to maintain budgetary guidelines and reduce waste
  • Oversee daily food preparation and cooking to ensure consistent quality and taste
  • Monitor daily staffing and problem solve in times of shortages, make cuts during slow periods to maintain sales/labor ratios
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary
  • Collaborate with the Owner, Operations and Food and Beverage Director to ensure success and implement changes
  • Address operational issues, employee concerns, or customer feedback promptly
  • Maintain a professional and courteous work environment while leading co-workers to success
