Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years of experience in kitchen supervision or management
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to lead a team
  • flexibility to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities
  • willingness to learn and adapt
  • English proficiency

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in kitchen management or a supervisory role in a restaurant
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • familiarity with inventory control procedures (FIFO)
  • ability to manage budgets and food costs
  • problem-solving and conflict management abilities
  • basic accounting and mathematical skills
  • proficiency in English communication
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • physical stamina for prolonged standing and manual tasks

Job Duties

  • Prepare daily production and prep list
  • assign, coordinate and supervise the set-up and food production areas within the kitchen to maximize productivity and minimize waste
  • ensure all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period
  • ensure kitchen staff follows cooking procedures, recipes and portions according to menu builds
  • keep kitchen, dish, and storage areas clean and organized
  • conduct inventory to minimize orders and keep food costs inline
  • ensure proper inventory procedures are followed (FIFO)
  • place food and supply orders as directed
  • receive product, verify invoice and freshness of merchandise
  • ensure credits are applied where needed
  • hire and train employees to company standards
  • actively participate as a member of the management team
  • manage kitchen staff scheduling keeping labor costs in line
  • manage staffing levels throughout shift
  • hold kitchen staff accountable for job performance
  • maintain a positive, respectful attitude at all times
  • perform food preparation duties
  • follow all Chickies & Petes service standards
  • facilitate communication in kitchen to ensure food service is coordinated and timely
  • act as expeditor - check food for quality and presentation, following menu builds, before serving
  • ensure food is handled in a sanitary manner
  • assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas
  • ensure line is kept clean at all times
  • assess and maintain all storage and food prep equipment
  • complete beginning, change and end of shift side duties
  • plan and execute food menu for parties, may include non-menu offerings
  • keep food costs in line with budget
  • additional tasks as assigned
