Job Requirements

  • minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food service
  • ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds
  • ability to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently during work hours
  • ServSafe certified or able to meet certification requirements within six months of hire
  • flexibility and personal integrity
  • ability to work respectfully and effectively with older adults and community partners
  • good communication skills
  • adherence to organizational policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare menus and meals in compliance with Philadelphia Corporation for Aging menu guidelines and nutritional guidance
  • plan and order all food and food service supplies managing inventory within budget and safe food handling practices
  • manage and maintain the kitchen following all regulatory standards and organizational compliance guidelines
  • prepare and distribute nutritious breakfasts and lunches daily to approximately 100 or more seniors
  • supervise kitchen staff in daily operations
  • ensure food safety standards are met
  • monitor inventory and order supplies as needed
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas
  • participate in trainings and meetings to improve service quality
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
