Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a kitchen manager sous chef or similar role
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work mornings evenings weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
- ServSafe or other food handling certification or willingness to obtain
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a kitchen manager sous chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations food safety and sanitation standards
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in inventory and scheduling software is a plus
- ServSafe or other food handling certification required or willingness to obtain
Job Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities and staff including cooks prep staff and dishwashers
- Ensure all food preparation and presentation meet quality and safety standards
- Manage inventory order supplies and control food costs and waste
- Schedule kitchen staff delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency
- Enforce proper sanitation hygiene and food safety practices in accordance with local health regulations
- Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure smooth kitchen-to-service flow
- Assist in menu planning recipe development and cost analysis
- Train and mentor kitchen staff promoting a culture of teamwork and professionalism
- Monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
- Handle administrative tasks including budgeting reporting and compliance documentation
