Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • at least three years of experience working in a kitchen
  • knowledge of baking preferred
  • valid driver's license
  • approval as a SCAD-authorized driver

Job Duties

  • ensure food is prepared and served consistently according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards
  • oversee inventory orders and deliveries to maintain food quality and control food costs
  • monitor food holding and refrigeration temperatures to ensure safety and quality
  • collaborate with the general manager to plan and price menu items and establish portion sizes
  • create standard recipe cards for new menu offerings
  • develop and enforce departmental rules, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and friendly work environment
  • administer corrective actions for policy violations
  • maintain cleaning schedules and ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order
  • prepare invoices promptly
  • schedule workers based on anticipated business activity
