Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience in the food industry
  • Successful experience in kitchen operations such as merchandising, ordering, inventory, and pricing
  • Complete kitchen operation training
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Basic computer skills including email and word documents
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts as per business needs
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience
  • Successful experience in kitchen operations including merchandising, ordering, inventory, and pricing
  • Complete training in kitchen operations
  • ServSafe certification
  • Strong computer skills including email and basic word processing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lead and train teams
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work scheduled hours based on business needs

Job Duties

  • Provide an open door atmosphere conducive to high associate morale and excellent customer service
  • Commit to the Golden Rule and work with other associates to build a strong kitchen team
  • Promote the company image as a service-oriented operation where every associate greets, assists, and thanks customers in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Conduct and facilitate department meetings effectively
  • Ensure all new department associates receive proper training regarding job descriptions, goals, and objectives
  • Administer fair and consistent discipline to promote morale
  • Manage inventory, security, and expense control of the department
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal laws
  • Resolve customer complaints satisfactorily
  • Merchandise the department according to community needs
  • Train and develop associates per company policies
  • Complete onboarding and e-learnings within 30 days of hire
  • Order, receive, unload, store, price, date, rotate, and stock product for display and sale
  • Rotate kitchen products according to policy using first-in, first-out
  • Control proper storage, limiting shrink and damage
  • Achieve merchandising goals in cooperation with store management and buyers
  • Plan work schedules and breaks to meet payroll budgets
  • Maintain records and timely respond to reports and mail
  • Monitor cooler and display temperatures
  • Offer product samples and assist customers
  • Prepare special orders
  • Minimize department expenses without compromising quality
  • Delegate and make decisions to solve problems
  • Guarantee product quality and presentation
  • Maintain safety, proper food handling, sanitation, and productivity standards
  • Practice sanitation procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment
  • Exercise proper safety practices when handling products and equipment
