Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in dietary or kitchen management
  • ability to obtain Safe-serve Management Course certification upon hire if not already certified
  • flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • strong organizational and leadership skills
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen duties
  • dependable and compassionate attitude
  • ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • willingness to participate in regular meetings and training

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in kitchen management or dietary services
  • knowledge of food safety regulations
  • ability to plan menus and manage inventory
  • leadership and supervisory skills
  • experience working with seniors preferred
  • familiarity with Crandall Menu System preferred
  • budgeting experience
  • current Food Handlers Training
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve meals
  • direct and supervise all dietary personnel and dietary functions
  • understand and maintain compliance exceeding health department guidelines
  • manage inventory and ordering
  • plan menus with dietician
  • document resident preferences and dietary needs
  • maintain current food handlers training and CPR/First Aid certification
  • schedule, train, and manage dietary department employees
  • collaborate with management team for quality assurance and safety meetings
  • plan and execute special events and holiday meals
  • participate in rotating Manager on Duty responsibilities
