Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a kitchen manager or similar role in an industrial or restaurant kitchen
  • Experience preparing meals for large groups (50 or more people)
  • Ability to plan balanced menus, maintain records, and manage inventories
  • Knowledge of industrial kitchen equipment
  • Serve Safe certification
  • Experience working with special diets, allergies, and food restrictions
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and seasonal peak workloads
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 or more pounds and respond to emergency situations when supporting campers

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or similar role in an industrial or restaurant kitchen

  • Knowledge of industrial kitchen equipment
  • Serve Safe certification

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and seasonal peak workloads
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 or more pounds
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee all kitchen operations including meal planning and food preparation
  • Manage food inventories and coordinate with vendors
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff during the summer season
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards and sanitation procedures
  • Prepare balanced, high-quality meals accommodating special dietary needs
  • Build schedules and monitor workflow to maintain efficient kitchen functioning
  • Deliver engaging cooking activities and support culinary outings and special events
