Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proven experience managing kitchen staff
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • physical ability to work long hours and lift heavy objects
  • excellent communication skills
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • certification in food handling such as ServSafe or willingness to obtain

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a kitchen manager sous chef or similar role
  • culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • strong knowledge of kitchen operations food safety and sanitation standards
  • excellent leadership and communication skills
  • ability to work in a high-pressure fast-paced environment
  • proficiency in inventory and scheduling software is a plus
  • servsafe or other food handling certification required or willingness to obtain

Job Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities and staff including cooks prep staff and dishwashers
  • ensure all food preparation and presentation meet quality and safety standards
  • manage inventory order supplies and control food costs and waste
  • schedule kitchen staff delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency
  • enforce proper sanitation hygiene and food safety practices in accordance with local health regulations
  • collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure smooth kitchen-to-service flow
  • assist in menu planning recipe development and cost analysis
  • train and mentor kitchen staff promoting a culture of teamwork and professionalism
  • monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
  • handle administrative tasks including budgeting reporting and compliance documentation
