Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- proven experience managing kitchen staff
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- ability to lead and motivate a team
- physical ability to work long hours and lift heavy objects
- excellent communication skills
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- certification in food handling such as ServSafe or willingness to obtain
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a kitchen manager sous chef or similar role
- culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- strong knowledge of kitchen operations food safety and sanitation standards
- excellent leadership and communication skills
- ability to work in a high-pressure fast-paced environment
- proficiency in inventory and scheduling software is a plus
- servsafe or other food handling certification required or willingness to obtain
Job Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities and staff including cooks prep staff and dishwashers
- ensure all food preparation and presentation meet quality and safety standards
- manage inventory order supplies and control food costs and waste
- schedule kitchen staff delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency
- enforce proper sanitation hygiene and food safety practices in accordance with local health regulations
- collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure smooth kitchen-to-service flow
- assist in menu planning recipe development and cost analysis
- train and mentor kitchen staff promoting a culture of teamwork and professionalism
- monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
- handle administrative tasks including budgeting reporting and compliance documentation
