Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Proven experience in food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to delegate and manage a team
  • Competence in computer skills including inventory and time management systems
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes accurately
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Availability to work within the school district's employment period of nine months
  • Willingness to attend training and development workshops
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Able to delegate responsibilities, instruct others, and manage time
  • Computer skills, inventory, time sheets, production records, programs (Nutrikids, Infinite Campus & POS), etc.
  • Follow standardized recipe
  • Assists in preparation and serving food in a quick and pleasant manner
  • Produces quality food products and follows standardized recipes closely
  • Operates a variety of equipment, including grinder, mixer, oven, range, dishwasher, steam kettle, slicer, etc.
  • Managing a crew of employees
  • Assist in general daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas
  • Assists in major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as requested
  • Attends relevant training classes and workshops to maintain food service knowledge
  • Assists with the proper storage and disposal of unused foods
  • Deals with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive, encouraging manner
  • Knows and follows school policy and chain of command
  • Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment
  • Performs such school-related duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
