Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing a kitchen or similar food preparation environment
  • Knowledge of pizza preparation and cooking standards
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Certification in food safety or sanitation preferred

Job Duties

  • Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff including pizza cooks and prep cooks
  • Create and manage staff schedules to meet peak demand
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff
  • Address any disciplinary issues within the kitchen team
  • Ensure all menu items are prepared according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Monitor food freshness and rotation to prevent spoilage
  • Conduct regular quality checks on cooked menu items before serving
  • Maintain proper food handling and sanitation practices in the kitchen
  • Order necessary ingredients and supplies for the kitchen based on demand forecasts
  • Monitor inventory levels and minimize food cost by preventing waste
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies
  • Manage kitchen workflow to ensure timely food production during peak hours
  • Optimize kitchen equipment usage and maintenance
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth order pickup flow
  • Track kitchen costs and identify areas for cost reduction
  • Monitor labor costs and ensure staff productivity
  • Contribute to budget planning and forecasting
