Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent applicable work experience
  • Degree in Culinary Arts, Business, Education, or similar field
  • Minimum 7 years' experience managing food service operations
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in food service training
  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with SRM Statement of Faith
  • Ability to drive SRM or personal vehicle with valid driver's license and insurance
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Good manual dexterity and eye coordination
  • Willingness to work collaboratively
  • Ability to pass ongoing motor vehicle record monitoring

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Business, Education, or similar field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience managing, planning, and operating a food service establishment
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in food service training
  • Ministry minded with a passionate belief in investing in individuals
  • Mature, active Christian faith commitment
  • Knowledge of food operations and service including menu planning and food handling
  • Ability to teach, motivate, and patiently communicate
  • Effective prioritization and sound decision-making skills
  • Adaptable, creative, and takes initiative
  • Good mathematics, reading, and writing skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, internet, and email
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Stewardship mindset with attention to detail
  • Able to meet deadlines and standards
  • Reliable and open to learning new skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Current proof of insurance

Job Duties

  • Oversee food services staff including coordinators, cooks, instructors, clients, and volunteers
  • Ensure strict adherence to kitchen safety and cleanliness procedures, recipes, and overall meal quality standards
  • Provide training, supervision, and feedback to clients as part of vocational training focusing on culinary arts
  • Collaborate with program leadership on annual kitchen budget and work within budget constraints to manage food costs
  • Maintain quality partner relationships with food providers
  • Create meals that are fresh, nutritionally sound, and promote physical health restoration
  • Provide health and nutrition training for clients regularly
  • Track all monies spent and revenue received through catering and food service contracts
  • Coordinate with distribution manager for donated foods usage
  • Oversee and direct culinary instruction and food service contracts
  • Collaborate with outside work partners for possible client internships
  • Participate in hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating departmental staff
  • Project departmental budget and manage accordingly
  • Operate food services in compliance with health and safety standards
  • Inspect kitchen, dining, and storage areas regularly for compliance
  • Write and maintain volunteer service descriptions for food service department
  • Negotiate with vendors for donations, purchases, and deliveries
  • Inspect deliveries for freshness and quality
  • Maintain departmental equipment and notify for repairs
  • Train others in equipment use and maintenance
  • Work collaboratively with SRM management and attend meetings
  • Perform additional duties as requested
