Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or relevant experience
- Serve Safe Certification
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- effective verbal communication skills
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to detailed written or oral instructions
- ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently
- capability to stand, walk, squat, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, and reach with hands and arms frequently
- compliance with all safety and health regulations
- willingness to work in varying temperature and noise conditions
- ability to handle multiple tasks and delegate as necessary

- prior experience in food service management preferred
Job Duties
- Monitor food and food preparation to maintain quality standards for preparation, presentation, and sanitation
- promote customer service by investigating and resolving food quality and service complaints
- coordinate the preparation and daily transportation of meals going to all satellite buildings, where applicable
- conduct daily safety and production meetings with kitchen staff
- demonstrate and promote Opaa's core values including honesty, passion to serve, and continuous improvement
- supervise kitchen staff in all areas of production and delegate workflow
- train, cross-train, and certify all kitchen job stations
- ensure overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas
- maintain compliance with Opaa! recipes and menu plans
- obtain approval for menu changes from the DNS
- maintain strict compliance with timekeeping policies
- submit all hours worked accurately
- maintain compliance with HACCP processes and procedures
- maintain compliance with HHFKA and CACFP meal patterns
- maintain compliance with all safety processes and health regulations
- report unsafe conditions and incidents timely
- coordinate and submit food and supply orders
- ensure production records are complete and accurate
- oversee physical inventory counts and ensure FIFO standards
- ensure proper receiving and approval of vendor invoices
- enter participation counts daily
- ensure accurate completion of all required logs
- perform daily tray counts and reconcile with district reports
- maintain communication with building principal and conduct weekly meetings
- organize daily service flow using production board
- attend weekly Kitchen Manager meetings with DNS
- perform additional duties assigned by Opaa! Food Management
