Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in kitchen management or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
- Ability to manage inventory and control costs
- Effective communication skills
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to bend, reach overhead, and work in varying temperature conditions
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal English communication
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in back-of-house management or a similar supervisory or kitchen leadership role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques including hot, cold, and plating
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
- Understanding of health codes, safety standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in inventory management and cost control
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Ability to train and motivate staff in a high-energy environment
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations by managing food prep, cooking, plating, and ensuring high standards of presentation and quality
- Lead and train kitchen staff on food safety, proper techniques, and operational best practices
- Manage inventory and purchasing by ordering food and supplies, tracking stock levels, and controlling costs
- Ensure food quality and consistency by monitoring portion sizes, plating standards, and cooking accuracy
- Maintain sanitation and safety by keeping the kitchen clean, enforcing health codes, and upholding food safety standards
- Track performance metrics such as food costs, waste minimization, labor hours, and profit goals
- Assist with menu development through collaboration on specials, portion planning, and recipe refinement
- Adapt and assist in kitchen tasks during peak times or staffing gaps
- Handle operational needs including maintenance issues, upholding standards, and supporting compliance in daily tasks
