Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma
  • Two or more years of experience in medium volume or multi-unit kitchen operations
  • Ability to manage and motivate kitchen teams
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and operational standards
  • Capability to read, comprehend and follow instructions and policy documents
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates and management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma
  • Preferred Inter-Provincial Red Seal certification in cooking
  • Brand certification is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medium volume or multi-unit kitchen operations
  • Preferred 3 or more years of related experience
  • Knowledge of product quality and customer service standards
  • Strong team management and coaching skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and issues
  • Effective communication skills in speaking, reading, and comprehension of instructions and policies

Job Duties

  • Ensure the kitchen is staffed appropriately daily
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper working condition of kitchen equipment
  • Supervise and assign work to kitchen staff
  • Monitor and update prep, par, and pull sheets continuously
  • Train cooks and prep cooks on procedures and standards
  • Ensure compliance with recipes and complete self-inspection reports
  • Oversee expediting to guarantee meal quality and timeliness
