Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in kitchen management or supervisory role
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and food prep techniques
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Ability to manage inventory and control food costs
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in back-of-house management or similar supervisory kitchen leadership role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques for hot, cold, and plating applications
- Understanding of health codes, safety standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Inventory management and cost-control experience
- Clear and effective communication skills with ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations including food prep, cooking, and plating while ensuring high standards of presentation and quality
- Lead and train kitchen staff on food safety, proper techniques, and operational best practices
- Manage inventory and purchasing, track stock levels, oversee rotation, and control costs
- Ensure food quality and consistency by monitoring portion sizes, plating standards, and cooking accuracy
- Maintain sanitation and safety by keeping the kitchen clean, enforcing health codes, and upholding food safety standards
- Track performance metrics to optimize food costs, minimize waste, monitor labor hours, and support profit goals
- Assist with menu development including specials, portion planning, and recipe refinement
- Adapt and assist with prep or cooking tasks as needed during peak times or staffing shortages
- Handle additional operational needs including maintenance issues and compliance support
