Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years chef, sous chef, or direct kitchen management experience
  • Minimum three years customer service experience
  • One year supervisory experience of five or more employees preferred
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of food safety and HACCP/Department of Health guidelines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven sales generation and expense management capabilities
  • Ability to train and lead team members
  • Effective communication skills
  • Possession of a valid Washington State Food Workers Card prior to employment

Job Duties

  • Assist the Prepared Foods Team Leader and Prepared Foods Assistant Team Leader with product management, food safety, quality control, merchandising, sales generation, gross margins, labor and general expense control, personnel development, customer service, and profitability within the production functions of the Prepared Foods Department
  • Develop and maintain product displays to create an exciting marketplace that impacts customer buying trends
  • Ensure proficiency in production tasks by achieving food preparation guidelines including recipe compliance, consistency, quality, freshness, portion control, and proper labeling
  • Manage effective ordering and inventory control to support sales merchandising and minimize costs
  • Interact with vendors and participate in order quantities and cost of goods determination
  • Maintain stocking standards including rotation and cleaning to ensure high product quality
  • Determine daily projects and activities for production employees, ensuring timely completion
  • Lead and participate in product promotions and focus efforts
  • Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation requirements while educating team members on HACCP and health regulations
  • Train team members and provide performance feedback, coaching, and counseling
  • Perform physical inventory quarterly or as needed
