Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience in kitchen management or related food service leadership role
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Proven ability to manage inventory and food cost controls
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Certification in food safety preferred
- Availability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in kitchen management or similar high-volume food service role
- Strong background in large commissary or mass-volume food production
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- High standard of cleanliness and knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills including patience and empathy
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the kitchen
- Familiarity with cost control, inventory management, and scheduling software
- Experience with food safety certifications such as ServSafe
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Manage the ordering of food and kitchen supplies based on inventory needs
- Oversee inventory to optimize food costs with the back-of-house team
- Schedule kitchen staff efficiently to meet business demands
- Ensure kitchen staff are trained and uphold restaurant standards
- Oversee food preparation and presentation quality
- Conduct line checks, temperature logs, and quality assessments
- Enforce sanitation and safety standards compliant with regulations
- Maintain communication with management to address operational issues
- Participate in management meetings
- Implement and monitor back-of-house systems including prep lists and order guides
