Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in kitchen management or related food service leadership role
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Proven ability to manage inventory and food cost controls
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Certification in food safety preferred
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in kitchen management or similar high-volume food service role
  • Strong background in large commissary or mass-volume food production
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • High standard of cleanliness and knowledge of sanitation regulations
  • Strong interpersonal skills including patience and empathy
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the kitchen
  • Familiarity with cost control, inventory management, and scheduling software
  • Experience with food safety certifications such as ServSafe
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Manage the ordering of food and kitchen supplies based on inventory needs
  • Oversee inventory to optimize food costs with the back-of-house team
  • Schedule kitchen staff efficiently to meet business demands
  • Ensure kitchen staff are trained and uphold restaurant standards
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation quality
  • Conduct line checks, temperature logs, and quality assessments
  • Enforce sanitation and safety standards compliant with regulations
  • Maintain communication with management to address operational issues
  • Participate in management meetings
  • Implement and monitor back-of-house systems including prep lists and order guides
