Job Duties

  • Oversee all kitchen operations including food preparation cooking and serving ensuring meals meet nutritional standards and dietary requirements
  • manage and supervise kitchen staff volunteers and food service personnel assigning tasks and coordinating schedules
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and food service areas adhering to health and safety regulations
  • plan and create menus considering dietary needs available resources and logistical constraints
  • manage food inventory including ordering receiving inspecting and storing supplies minimizing waste
  • operate and maintain kitchen equipment ensuring safe and working conditions
  • monitor food quality and presentation ensuring meals meet established standards
  • control food costs track expenses and manage kitchen budget effectively
  • ensure efficient and timely meal service coordinating with other response teams and agencies
  • provide training and guidance to kitchen staff and volunteers on food safety and preparation techniques
  • resolve issues or complaints related to food service promptly and professionally
  • maintain accurate records including production logs inventory reports and staff schedules
  • collaborate with response personnel to coordinate food service delivery
