Job Requirements

  • Must have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
  • Culinary training preferred
  • Experience should include dishwashing, prep/cooking, and expediting
  • Position can start as dishwasher or prep cook if experience not met
  • ServSafe training certification preferred or must complete training provided by Cinepolis
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
  • Must have working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume
  • Ability to follow instructions on safe use of chemical/cleaning materials
  • Must work effectively with supervisors and co-workers and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time
  • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods
  • Ability to walk, lift, twist, bend, reach, and handle food products frequently
  • Good communication skills with support personnel and management
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations positively
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus but not required
  • Flexible working hours including holidays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through the point of sale system
  • Make items only as ordered through the point of sale system with integrity
  • Accommodate special guest requests with management approval
  • Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency
  • Cook menu items cooperatively to ensure simultaneous, high-quality, timely service
  • Remake items as instructed by supervisor or manager
  • Adhere to food handlers safety guidelines including maintaining safe temperatures, proper labeling, avoiding cross contamination by washing hands and using correct tools
  • Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work area during and at end of shift
  • Keep kitchen stocked with dry products and prep materials and restock consistently
  • Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and reduce waste
  • Maintain accurate waste logs for discarded items
  • Keep supervisor and kitchen manager informed on inventory levels
  • Maintain positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Work safely using cutting gloves, ask for assistance with heavy lifting, and stay hydrated
  • Lock and secure food and equipment
  • Follow all opening, mid, and closing procedures
  • Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
