Job Requirements

  • High level of mobility and flexibility

  • Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service taught through in-house training
  • Must be able to communicate clearly

Job Duties

  • Work cooperatively with kitchen manager to ensure that all budget expenses are within limits
  • Identify and communicate ways to improve and streamline operation
  • Keep general manager and kitchen manager informed of problems and propose alternative solutions
  • Maintain a clean and safe facility
  • Monitor and oversee food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce risk of foodborne illness
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Ensure clear communication with vendors providing restaurant equipment and supplies
  • Complete walk-through and temperature checks in the kitchen
  • Assist in ordering food, produce, liquor and restaurant supplies
  • Assist in receiving deliveries and check paperwork to ensure receipt of items
  • Provide direction to staff for stocking items
  • Perform and assist in all functions related to kitchen operations
