- experience in kitchen supervision or management
- knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- culinary training or relevant certification preferred
Job Duties
- Supervise train and guide junior kitchen staff ensuring they follow standards for food preparation and presentation
- prepare dishes according to recipes oversee the cooking process and ensure all food meets high-quality standards
- manage stock monitor food supplies process orders and ensure efficient use of ingredients to control costs and minimize waste
- collaborate with the head chef on menu creation and planning and help develop new recipes
- ensure strict adherence to health safety and sanitation regulations including proper food handling and storage
- oversee daily kitchen activities maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure all equipment is in working order
- assume full responsibility for the kitchen and its operations in the head chef's absence
