Job Requirements
- Obtain or successfully finish and maintain Dust Bowl's paid Food Safety Certificate training
- Complete and maintain Dust Bowl’s paid Harassment Prevention and Workplace Violence Prevention trainings
- Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Familiarity with industry sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage conflict and provide constructive feedback
- Local travel availability
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college
- Two years of experience in kitchen management in a high-paced environment
- Familiar with MS Windows operating systems and MS Office applications
- Intermediate-level skills in Excel and Word
- Experience managing and training staff
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Competency in restaurant management software and POS systems
Job Duties
- Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
- Produce high-quality plates both design and taste-wise
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
- Assist the Kitchen Manager in planning and directing food preparation and other duties
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation(s) extending to but not limited to food preparation, plating, inventory, and employees
- Manage and train kitchen staff, establish a working schedule, and assess staff’s performance
- Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
