Job Requirements

  • Obtain or successfully finish and maintain Dust Bowl's paid Food Safety Certificate training
  • Complete and maintain Dust Bowl’s paid Harassment Prevention and Workplace Violence Prevention trainings
  • Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Familiarity with industry sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage conflict and provide constructive feedback
  • Local travel availability

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college
  • Two years of experience in kitchen management in a high-paced environment
  • Familiar with MS Windows operating systems and MS Office applications
  • Intermediate-level skills in Excel and Word
  • Experience managing and training staff
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Competency in restaurant management software and POS systems

Job Duties

  • Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
  • Produce high-quality plates both design and taste-wise
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in planning and directing food preparation and other duties
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation(s) extending to but not limited to food preparation, plating, inventory, and employees
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish a working schedule, and assess staff’s performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
