Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • must have a valid driver’s license
  • must possess computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • prior experience working with exposure to humidity, extreme temperatures, and hazardous cleaning chemicals
  • commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge
  • valid Kentucky Horse Racing Authority License required
  • Certified Food Service Manager Certificate or comparable national certification required

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading and mentoring staff in procedures including safety, sanitation, and equipment usage standards
  • 3-5 years of equipment management experience in a high-volume food and beverage operation, specifically stadium-like properties preferred
  • advanced understanding of proper use and maintenance of food and beverage equipment
  • experience with health department, vendor, and external contractor communication and coordination
  • project management experience is a plus
  • ability to troubleshoot challenges as they arise

  • works efficiently with no supervision
  • ability to work in a team environment calmly and effectively under pressure

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute comprehensive equipment maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime
  • monitor equipment condition and usage, performing day-to-day maintenance tasks and diagnosing issues
  • manage vendor contracts, service agreements, and external contractors for equipment repairs, ensuring they meet performance metrics and regulatory requirements
  • maintain accurate inventory records of all equipment
  • coordinate the logistics of moving, installing, and removing all equipment
  • act as a liaison between Keeneland Hospitality and the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department
  • ensure all health codes are adhered to according to state and county laws
  • assist operation management teams in maintaining cleanliness standards for equipment and facilities, coordinating cleaning programs and performing regular audits
  • prepare reports to track updates on equipment repairs and maintenance for review
  • oversee the pest control contract and facilitate the program for all Keeneland Hospitality areas
  • oversee equipment rental contracts for all Keeneland Hospitality areas
  • work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure operating budgets are met in all areas of responsibility
  • create and execute procedures to manage opening and closing cleaning procedures in kitchens for race meets and special events
  • manage Keeneland Hospitality box truck including maintenance and use outside of department per request
  • assess training opportunities from observations, management, and peer feedback and make recommendations for additional areas of growth
  • negotiate and manage the warewashing equipment contracts for all kitchens
  • organize special projects such as vendor relations, time schedules, and equipment purchasing for outlet renovations
  • advocate sound financial and business decision making, demonstrate honesty and integrity, lead by example
  • other duties as assigned
