Job Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be in good health verified by current health screening including tuberculosis test
  • Proof of up-to-date immunizations including measles, pertussis, tuberculosis (every 4 years) and influenza (annually)
  • Pass fingerprint clearance, criminal record, FBI and DOJ clearance, and child abuse index check prior to employment
  • Possess California driver’s license meeting minimum insurance requirements and regulatory driving standards
  • Completion of mandated reporter training every 2 years
  • Disclose any driver's license suspensions or revocations
  • Follow all traffic laws and signage
  • Wear slip-resistant, ankle-supportive, and protective footwear
  • Report safety hazards and injuries promptly
  • Maintain accurate CACFP required records
  • Use equipment safely and compliantly

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to safely drive and operate a delivery vehicle
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and employee relations skills
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to learn assigned delivery routes and stops
  • Professional appearance
  • Commitment to working as a cohesive team member
  • Respect for diversity and ability to work with multicultural communities
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and transportation

Job Duties

  • Portion meals following portioning information and USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program meal pattern
  • Use transportation log to measure food amounts for packing and delivery
  • Deliver food to assigned sites following safe food handling practices within allotted delivery times
  • Wash reusable lunch containers, hot holding boxes, bags, carts and other kitchen dishes daily
  • Unload and store food supplies
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintain clean kitchen, storage rooms, pantries, refrigerators, oven and other areas as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles
  • Complete weekly vehicle safety checks
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Attend meetings and training as required
  • Cross train on all delivery routes
  • Provide support to cooks as a roving assistant
  • Control food inventories and maintain par levels, notify lead cook and Food Services Manager when low
  • Suggest improvements for central kitchen systems
  • Complete reports and paperwork required by the Child and Adult Care Food Program accurately and timely
