Job Requirements
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy
- Must have outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to learn and operate POS, PMS, CRM, and hospitality software
- Must have the ability to interact well with guests, vendors, and team members
- Must be able to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully
- Ability to stand and move freely for most of the shift
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform grasping, fine manipulation, repetitive hand and arm movements, squeezing and overhead reaching
- Ability to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces occasionally
- Must be able to work in variable indoor and outdoor weather conditions including rain, wind, and heat
- Ability to climb stairs occasionally indoors and outdoors
- Must comply with OSHA guidelines and hotel policies for safety and incident reporting
Job Qualifications
- Experience working efficiently in a high-volume, production-oriented kitchen environment
- Knowledge of local, state, or federal food sanitation regulations
- State Alcohol Server Certification
- State Food Handlers Certificate
- Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong coordination and multi-tasking skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to use POS, PMS, CRM or other hospitality software systems
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests, vendors, and team members
- Problem-solving skills to resolve conflicts diplomatically
- Knowledge of food and beverage service operations preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Resolve guest complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction
- Follow hotel policies with lost and found items
- Adhere to hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations
- Continuously promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, cutting, and measuring to ensure readiness for cooking
- Execute cooking tasks following established recipes and presentation standards
- Plate prepared foods based on senior chef's guidance
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area including workstations and equipment
- Assist with monitoring kitchen inventory, restocking supplies, tracking ingredient usage and reporting shortages to kitchen manager
- Participate in quality control measures through regular taste tests and inspections
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines ensuring safe storage and handling of food
- Work closely and communicate with culinary team members to maintain smooth kitchen operations
- Coordinate with servers to ensure orders are completed as requested and on time
- Stay informed about current menu offerings and provide information and recommendations to guests
- Inspect, plan, and ensure materials and equipment readiness for service
- Maintain knowledge of proper maintenance and use of equipment
- Comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Report accidents and breakages to the F&B Manager or Executive Chef
- Adhere to relevant food safety hygiene standards
- Work safely abiding by OSHA regulations and hotel policies regarding accident and incident reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
