Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful experience in kitchen operation including line cooking, merchandising, ordering, inventory, and pricing
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience in the food industry
  • Complete training in kitchen operations
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English with ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work a schedule based on business needs of the store location
  • Authorized to work within the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience in the food industry
  • Successful experience in kitchen operations including line cooking, merchandising, ordering, inventory, and pricing
  • Complete training in kitchen operations
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Authorized to work within the U.S.
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts based on store needs

Job Duties

  • Commit to the Golden Rule and work with other associates to build a strong kitchen team
  • Achieve the highest associate morale by working in a respectful, supportive and totally team oriented style
  • Provide continuous attention to customers' needs at the service counter and assist with questions about food products
  • Greet, assist, and thank customers promptly and courteously while preparing special orders
  • Answer product questions and offer assistance with product selection
  • Work with kitchen manager to plan daily meals or menus
  • Guarantee outstanding product quality and presentation by cooperating with the kitchen manager
  • Process merchandise following production guidelines and sanitation standards
  • Rotate kitchen ingredients according to company policy using first in, first out method
  • Control shrink by using proper tares, checking scale accuracy, minimizing waste and leftovers
  • Practice proper sanitation procedures and the Cleaner's Creed
  • Maintain company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity
  • Follow safety practices when lifting, moving product, and operating equipment
  • Monitor cooler and display temperatures to ensure quality and report refrigeration failures immediately
  • Restock supplies efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain low costs
  • Clean utensils, work tables, walls, fans, drains in kitchen cooler, and wipe counters and display cases
  • Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance
  • Report theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns or property damage to management
  • Complete onboarding and e-learnings within 30 days
  • Perform other duties as assigned
