Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Formal vocational courses in cooking, dietetics, menu planning, food purchasing or general home economics helpful
  • Minimum of 18
  • Experience in serving large groups helpful
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work nontraditional hours as required, including weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist and lift
  • Ability to transfer or move a minimum of 80 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must have a valid drivers license

Job Duties

  • Prepare kitchen areas for the opening and closing of each session including inventories
  • Daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen, floors, storerooms and trash to meet public health and American Camping Association standards
  • Model appropriate workplace behavior
  • Providing training and supervision to weekend support team members
  • Follow the prep list
  • Label and stock all ingredients
  • Open and close the kitchen according to assigned shift responsibilities
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing, chopping, etc
  • Prepare and serve scheduled meals assigned by leader
  • Assist in daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and dining spaces
  • Ensure all food items are stored properly
  • Assist and properly care for kitchen equipment and surroundings
  • Assist with inventory and record keeping
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Understand and comply with all policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governing and accreditation standards
  • Other duties assigned
