Job Requirements
- high school degree or equivalent
- previous experience in food service or cashiering preferred
- ability to operate a point of sale system
- basic math skills for cash handling
- ability to follow USDA meal guidelines
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- assist in forecasting daily meal needs and request products accordingly from the production kitchen
- assist with preparing and serving meals for students, staff and special functions
- effectively operate the point of sale system and handle money and prepare bank deposits
- ensure each reimbursable meal sold meets USDA requirements
- perform a variety of kitchen cleaning duties
- assist with setting up serving line and serve meals according to meal patterns
- project a positive and professional image of themselves, their school and the child nutrition department to all customers, staff and parents
