Mendota Elementary School, part of ISD #197, is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Child Nutrition/Kitchen Assistants/Cashiers. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate Point of Sale System
- Basic math skills for handling money
- Ability to follow USDA guidelines
- Ability to maintain cleanliness in kitchen areas
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Good communication skills

Job Duties
- Assist in forecasting daily meal needs and may request products accordingly from the Production kitchen
- Assist with preparing and serving meals for students, staff and special functions
- Effectively operate the Point of Sale System and able to handle money and prepare bank deposits effectively
- Ensures that each reimbursable meal sold meets USDA requirements
- Performs a variety of kitchen cleaning duties
- Assist with setting up serving line and serves meals according to meal patterns
- Projects a positive and professional image of themselves, their school and the Child Nutrition Dept. to all customers, staff and parents
