Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful experience in kitchen operation including merchandising, ordering, inventory, and pricing
  • Complete training in kitchen operation
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience
  • Ability to display initiative and work with limited supervision
  • Servsafe certified
  • Computer skills in email and basic word document skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English with ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work schedule based on business needs
  • Authorized to work within the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful experience in kitchen operations including merchandising, ordering, inventory and pricing
  • Complete training in kitchen operations
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience in the food industry
  • Servsafe certification
  • Computer skills including email and basic word processing
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to work scheduled hours based on store needs
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Duties

  • Provide an open door atmosphere conducive to high associate morale and excellent customer service
  • Commit to the Golden Rule and work with other associates to build a strong kitchen team
  • Promote the company image as a service-oriented operation where every associate will greet, assist, render efficient service and thank customers promptly and courteously
  • Conduct and facilitate department meetings with good communication skills
  • Ensure proper review and training of new department associates regarding job descriptions, goals and objectives
  • Administer discipline fairly and consistently to promote high associate morale
  • Assist department manager with inventory, security and expense control
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant federal and state laws
  • Resolve customer complaints fully to their satisfaction
  • Merchandise the department according to community needs
  • Guarantee best-trained kitchen team in the industry through training and development
  • Complete onboarding and e-learnings within 30 days of hire
  • Handle ordering, receiving, unloading and storage of deliveries
  • Rotate all kitchen products according to policy ensuring first in, first out
  • Control storage to limit shrink and damage
  • Meet merchandising goals and standards with store management
  • Assist with scheduling and payroll to stay within budget
  • Maintain accurate wage and hour records and respond timely to reports and mail
  • Monitor cooler and display temperatures for product quality
  • Provide product samples and assist customers with product inquiries
  • Prepare special orders requested by customers
  • Minimize department expenses without compromising conditions or customer service
  • Delegate tasks and act on opportunities and problems with good judgment
  • Guarantee outstanding food quality and presentation
  • Ensure safety, food handling practices, sanitation and productivity standards are met
  • Practice proper sanitation procedures and reporting hazards
  • Maintain clean, orderly sales and work areas free from safety hazards
  • Exercise proper safety practices with equipment and lifting
